River Quest is a service of Youth Town of Tennessee, Inc.

River Quest is a Supervised Residential Alcohol and Drug Treatment Facility for youth between the ages of 12 through 17.  The program is located on the campus of Youth Town of Tennessee, Inc. and encompasses a 12- step Christ Centered approach to the treatment of the disease of addiction


Population Served
Persons referred for admission to the River Quest program have been identified by a mental health professional and/or Alcohol and Drug Professional as meeting the DSM-IV criteria of  having a Substance Dependency/Abuse diagnosis.

The program is open to youth between the ages of 12 and 17 who are diagnosed as primarily chemically dependent. Each person is assessed prior to admission to determine the appropriate level of care, given the adolescent's use history and persisting problems.

Families are involved in the assessment, as their perspective on the problem is a vital aspect of the solution.

Services to be Provided
River Quest offers a highly
structured environment and daily schedule which is found to be the most successful approach for caring for people with this illness. When a person is admitted, a complete diagnostic evaluation is completed to determine the proper treatment plan including:

  • Complete physical examination (if necessary)
  • Psychosocial assessment.
  • Individual treatment plan addressing:
- Medical needs
- Family dynamics
- Emotional
- Peer relationships
- Psychological
- Consequences of addiction
- Relapse Prevention
- Life-skills
- Family Reunification
- Participation in extra-curricular
activities
